2. Personal data we collect

We collect only what we need to run our business.

Information you give us

  • Enquiries and contact forms: your name, email address, phone number and the contents of your message.
  • Orders and purchases: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, and order details.
  • Account information: if you create an account, your username, password (stored in encrypted form) and saved addresses.
  • Appointments and store visits: details you share when booking a consultation or visiting one of our showrooms.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page and pages viewed.
  • Usage statistics: we use a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool to understand which pages are popular. It is configured to avoid tracking individuals across other websites.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as caste, religion, biometric or health information, and we ask that you do not send such information to us.

3. Payment information

If online payment is offered at checkout, your card or banking details are entered directly with our payment provider and are processed on their systems. We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV or UPI credentials. We receive only confirmation of payment and limited transaction reference details.

4. How we use your data

  • To process, fulfil and deliver your orders, and to handle returns or exchanges.
  • To respond to your enquiries, quotations and appointment requests.
  • To provide customer support and after-sales service on jewellery purchased from us.
  • To send transactional messages such as order confirmations and delivery updates.
  • To send offers, festive collections or promotional messages — only where you have asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
  • To maintain the security of our website and prevent fraud.
  • To meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, including those applicable to dealers in precious metals and stones.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function, for example to remember the contents of your shopping cart and to keep you signed in.
  • Preference cookies — to remember choices such as your selected currency or region.
  • Analytics — to count visits and understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site — including the cart and checkout — may not work.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with parties who help us operate, and only as far as needed:

  • Web hosting and IT providers who host this website.
  • Payment providers, for processing transactions.
  • Courier, logistics and insurance partners, to deliver and insure your order.
  • Professional advisers such as auditors and legal counsel.
  • Government or regulatory authorities, where disclosure is required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.

Because we operate in both India and the UAE, your data may be accessed by our offices in either country. Where data is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

7. How long we keep it

  • Order and billing records: retained as long as required under applicable tax and company law.
  • Enquiries: generally retained for up to 3 years from your last contact with us.
  • Account data: retained while your account is active, and deleted on request unless we must keep it by law.
  • Analytics: retained in aggregate form.

8. How we protect your data

Our website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to customer records is limited to authorised staff, and passwords are stored using one-way encryption. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and we will notify you and the relevant authority of a personal data breach where the law requires it.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
  • Ask us to erase your data where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.
  • Withdraw a consent you previously gave, at any time.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
  • Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.

To exercise any of these rights, email reachus@navratnajewellery.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act, and we will respond within a reasonable period.
